Key Information

Contact Carvels Lettings on 01603 435644 to book an appointment to view the accommodation on offer. You can attend alone or with housemates. Alternatively you can just reserve by completing a student application form on our website www.carvels.co.uk if you are unable to view beforehand.
Once you have decided on a property or room type that you like, you will need to complete your student application online and pay your holding deposit as outlined on Carvels Lettings website: www.carvels.co.uk on the ‘Our Fees’ page. This holds the property prior to signing your tenancy agreement.

When we have received your student application form and passport for identification. You will have the opportunity to read the tenancy agreement and sign the agreement via DocuSign.

Approximately a month prior to the tenancy commencing, we will email all students to advise of the move-in procedure. All relevant details will be provided to you.

Following our ‘Move in’ email, you can book an appointment with us at our office to collect your key fob. At the time of collection you will also be issued with an inventory. Should there be any necessary amendments to the inventory you are able to contact our office within a week and we will attach this to the original inventory.

Key Information

As a student you may have exemption from Council Tax. As a complimentary service we will collect any exemption certificates on your behalf and we will send them to Norwich City Council direct. However it is the responsibility of the student to deal with Norwich City Council directly with any queries.

If you are not a full time student you will be responsible for paying your council tax to Norwich City Council.

Tesco Express or Aldi Supermarket are all within a 10 minute walk.

There is a cashpoint at Co-Op Food store and Tesco Express, Earlham Green Lane, Norwich.

There is a washing machine in each apartment and house.

Your room is fully furnished with: double bed, wardrobe, study desk, chair, shelving, pinboard, storage cupboards and en-suite shower room. You will need to provide your own bedding and crockery and cooking utensils. Wi-Fi is also included.

Kitchens come equipped with an electric oven, microwave, hob, fridge freezer and washing machine. You will need to provide your own crockery and cooking utensils. There is a seating area with sofa, table and chairs.

Communal outside sitting area, secure bike storage, on-site staff based at reception and secured door access along with CCTV.

Yes there is a doctor’s surgery, West Earlham Health Centre, near the building.

Yes – here at Shoemakers we have a staff presence, CCTV covering all entrances and communal areas, and secure key fob access so we can keep track of everyone who comes and goes.

The city is around 15 minutes on the bus. The bus stop is outside the Shoemakers building.

UEA is only a 10 minute walk away or 5 minute cycle ride away.

No. Smoking is not permitted in any area within Shoemakers. You can smoke outside the accommodation in designated areas.

Guests are only permitted for a maximum of 2 nights in any week. Please sign them in at reception on arrival during office hours or email us with their names and date of their stay.
